Martin Stadium at Washington State University was the venue for a free viewing of the movie, "The Blind Side,"on June 8, 2010, at 6 p.m. (see photos and video) and 9 p.m. WSU's Student Entertainment Board and WSU Athletics presented the showing. Those watching the movie did so sitting on the stadium's FieldTurf, the same surface upon which the WSU Cougars play their home football games. Newspaper ads for the event encouraged people attending to bring "blankets, lawn chairs, and your favorite snack to get comfy and watch the movie!" And, indeed, they did. A lot of pizza was brought in and eaten. Plus, a Martin Stadium concession stand was open selling popcorn and other usual home football game fare.
